daughter.\u003cbr/\u003eHopes of a deal stalled yesterday when the 12-year-old's father, Sajad Rana, rejected conditions proposed by his ex-wife for access rights.\u003cbr/\u003eLouise Campbell's lawyers said their client would drop her demand for full custody in return for regular contact by phone and email with her daughter, as well as visits to Scotland during the school holidays.\u003cbr/\u003eBut her ex-husband was opposed to his daughter visiting her mother as he said his ex-wife was now living with a non-Muslim man outside of marriage, and this was a sin in the Muslim faith.\u003cbr/\u003eThe girl, who is also known as Misbah Rana, has been living with her father since fleeing with him to the eastern city of Lahore in August 2006 from her mother's home near Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.\u003cbr/\u003eIf no compromise acceptable to both parents can be reached on Thursday, it is thought judges hearing the case at Islamabad's Supreme Court could make a ruling.\u003cbr/\u003eBut if a deal cannot be agreed, Misbah's mother could resume the custody battle.\u003cbr/\u003eMr Rana took his case to the top court in the land after the High Court in Lahore ruled in December that Misbah should return to Scotland.\u003cbr/\u003eIf the fight for custody resumes, judges in Islamabad will have to decide whether Mr Rana has leave to appeal against the
