able to stage major attacks - despite Russian claims that the insurgents are in disarray.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough Russia's grip on the southern mountainous region of the Chechnya is tightening, small groups of fighters continue resistance actions.\u003cbr/\u003eThis, according to the Russian military, is forcing Russian troops to carry out ever more comprehensive 'clean-up' raids of Chechen villages where retreating fighters could be located.\u003cbr/\u003eA-P-T-N has obtained video footage of one such raid, shot by Russian interior ministry troops taking part in an operation in the village of Khal-Kiloy late last month. \u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the officers who shot the pictures, troops were called in after shooting broke out in the village, despite its having been previously captured from the rebels.\u003cbr/\u003eThere appears to be no resistance or return fire.\u003cbr/\u003eRussian tactics seem to consist of firing on houses from machine guns and grenade launchers, as well as tossing grenades through windows. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Monday, Russian troops overran the last major Chechen stronghold - Shatoi - in the south of the republic.\u003cbr/\u003eClashes with Chechen fighters, forced out of Shatoi, have been reported all week. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Thursday, Russian news agency Interfax quoted unnamed military sources as saying that up to 25,000 Russian troops would remain in Chechnya, even after the official end of the military campaign.\u003cbr/\u003e Khal-Kiloy, Shatoi region, Chechnya -
