Then again I've met a lot of photographers who have said the same thing about Marylin Monroe that every photographer who did Marylin Monroe, fell in love with her. So I think it must be some unique chemistry between the pair of them but it was obviously there and as you said it just comes across really clearly in the photographs.'\u003cbr/\u003e6. VS photos in collection\u003cbr/\u003eAn intimate collection of photographs of screen icon, Audrey Hepburn, went on display at London's Proud Galleries on Friday (8th FEB). \u003cbr/\u003eThis extensive collection of images was taken over many years by a personal friend to the starlet, famed Hollywood photographer Bob Willoughby. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen Bob Willoughby first shot Hepburn, one morning in 1953, she was still a virtually unknown actress. He on the other hand was already established as America's most celebrated entertainment photographer, responsible for some of the definitive pictures of Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda, James Dean and Judy Garland.  He was a veteran of over 120 classic movie productions, providing some of the most important images from a golden era of Hollywood film.   \u003cbr/\u003eHowever, this seemingly insignificant commission was to mark the start of a four-decade friendship with an actress who would become his favourite subject of all, Edda van Heemstra Hepburn-Ruston, or by the stage name that she is better known, Audrey Hepburn.  \u003cbr/\u003eAs Hepburn's fame soared following her US debut in 'Roman Holiday' alongside Gregory Peck, Willoughby became a trusted friend, framing both her working and home life. His tender photographs seek out the many facets to Hepburn's beauty and elegance as she progressed towards the career high of 'My Fair Lady' in 1963.   \u003cbr/\u003eAlex Proud, owner of the Proud Galleries Group, sees their unique friendship as the key to the success of these images.\u003cbr/\u003e'The great thing about Bob Willoughby was he was friends with her and for a photographer that makes a huge difference.
