Now we must make sure that when growth returns, jobs do, too,\" he said at a wrap-up news conference. \u003cbr/\u003eIn a statement issued at the conclusion of the summit, the full G-20 leadership echoed Obama's sentiment. \u003cbr/\u003e\"It worked,\" the statement said of stimulus packages and other measures taken by the world leaders.\u003cbr/\u003eObama said that tough new financial regulations backed by the G-20 summit would help avoid another economic crisis.\u003cbr/\u003eThe US president said that action taken on Friday by the Group of 20 \"prevents the kind of imbalances and abuse that led us into this crisis.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHe said that never again should the world economy be jeopardised by \"the schemes of a reckless few.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn the first international summit hosted by Obama, the G-20 moved to give China and other fast-growing economies a bigger say in decision-making and to crack down on greedy bankers.\u003cbr/\u003eThey agreed to make themselves the lead group for tackling international economic issues in the future, eclipsing the older, Western-dominated Group of Eight.\u003cbr/\u003eThe final statement said voting powers in the IMF \"should reflect the relative weights of its members in the world economy, which have changed substantially in view of the strong growth in dynamic emerging market and developing countries.\" \u003cbr/\u003eNow, developed industrialised nations wield about 57 percent of the voting rights in the IMF to about 43 percent for developing nations. \u003cbr/\u003eThe G-20 leaders called for shifting shares from developed powers to emerging ones by at least 5 percentage points. They called for a similar shift at the World Bank. \u003cbr/\u003eEuropean countries, particularly France and Britain, have been resisting such changes. The main beneficiaries would be countries such as China and India. \u003cbr/\u003eAlthough many of the pronouncements and actions taken by the leaders lacked specifics or details on follow-through,
