\u003cbr/\u003eArtisans recycle glass and other scrap materials into beautiful glassware and jewelry while visitors appreciate not just the artwork but the wild animals that roam the savannah.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the Nairobi National Park in Kenya, where zebras and other wild animals roam free, lives Richard Koitumet Ogeli.\u003cbr/\u003eRichard is probably the first Maasai glass blower in the world.\u003cbr/\u003eEveryday, he has to cover long distance along the plains, on the edge of the Nairobi National Park in order to get to work.\u003cbr/\u003eRichard's new job and hobby has helped raise his standard of living. \u003cbr/\u003eOnce he relied on his clan and their cattle for survival, today all he needs is some discarded trash and empty bottles to earn a living. \u003cbr/\u003eHe now has the skills to take these materials and form glass into useful shapes while the glass is in a bubbling hot molten state; \u003cbr/\u003eRichard says he likes his job because it involves travel abroad. \u003cbr/\u003eHe recently visited the Netherlands to tell people there about his work at the Kitengela Glass Studio. \u003cbr/\u003eThis is the only studio in Kenya that makes use of discarded glass to make an assortment of glass art.\u003cbr/\u003eThe creative atmosphere encourages recycling discarded materials everything into beautiful artifacts. \u003cbr/\u003eAnselm Croze set up the workshop to make unique art work from recycled material.\u003cbr/\u003eThe studio also has a number of other disciplines. \u003cbr/\u003eBesides blowing glass, artisans here also make mosaic motifs, bead work, stained glass, and even cement work. \u003cbr/\u003eEverything is handmade, meaning every item is not just environmentally friendly but artistically unique. \u003cbr/\u003eAnselm Croze says the company's green philosophy means nothing is wasted.\u003cbr/\u003eThe glass blowers in the Hot Glass section move around each other with a natural grace. \u003cbr/\u003eThey seem to move without even looking at each other, but manage to avoid clashing as they swing the glowing hot molten glass on metal rods.\u003cbr/\u003eAnselm Croze  says he wants the centre to become an educational facility to teach Africans how to blow glass.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe director of the studio, Nani Croze is not new to the world of art. \u003cbr/\u003eHer father Hap Grieshaber was a well known woodcutting artist in Germany. \u003cbr/\u003eIn Kenya, Nani is famous for experimenting with a range of materials, but is best known for her stained glass. \u003cbr/\u003eHer work can be found all over East Africa including large wall paintings in various government ministries, hospitals, banks and hotels. \u003cbr/\u003eUsing the technique of concrete relief, mosaic, metal, glass blocks and stained glass, she shows a knack for originality.\u003cbr/\u003eBut for Nani, responsibility goes beyond art and the environment, but also towards empowering women in the nearby Masaai community through education. \u003cbr/\u003eShe says the women need to be able to make their own choices about their lives, especially with the country's upcomming presidential elections in December. \u003cbr/\u003eWith around 70 employees, half of which live in this remote creative wonderland, a thriving little community is learning to depend on one another and
