improve labour rights for minorities in the US.\u003cbr/\u003eThe move follows remarks Fox made at a business meeting in Mexico on Friday, when he called called measures to stop illegal immigration a step back for Mexican-US relations saying Mexican migrants do jobs \"that not even blacks want to do.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe meeting between Fox and Jackson at the presidential residence was a contrast from a few days ago, when Jackson called on the Mexican president to issue a public apology.\u003cbr/\u003eFox met with Jackson for more than an hour, but didn't participate in a news conference immediately following the talks because he had to leave for a trip to northern Mexico.\u003cbr/\u003eFox has made no public reference to his comment on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson said Fox's comment Friday was \"at best, insensitive,\" but that the Mexican president had expressed regret for any offence he had caused.\u003cbr/\u003eForeign Secretary Luis Ernesto Derbez, who appeared at the news conference on Fox's behalf, said the meeting was an opportunity for Mexico to pursue better treatment for Mexican and other Latino migrants in the US.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson said Mexicans and blacks in
