Then we arrived here at the school and suddenly (there was) the bombing at Abu Hussein school. The first bombing was outside the school. We thought that if the bomb is falling outside there is no problem. The second bomb landed inside the school,\" she recalls.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We were thinking that this was a safe place but is not safe.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThousands of displaced Gazans are being looked after in 20 UN schools after being told by Israel that civilians must clear out of northern Gaza.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter spending more than three weeks at the shelter, Sweleem says all she wants is to feel safe and go home.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We ask the families that live outside to help us because we are children who do not have the right of freedom we need to have all the freedom to be able to play like the other children,\" says the teenager.\u003cbr/\u003eMany parents say their children are fearful of the situation and that they're increasingly unable to reassure them.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"They wake up at night shouting and they do not want to go to the bathroom. We are also afraid. Since the bombing happened at 5 o'clock, we just entered the bathroom and the people who were in that area were injured and killed and the people who were sleeping outside the classroom how many of them were injured and killed,\" says Reema Abu Jazar, a mother of seven from Beit Hanoun.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The children now are under pressure and stress. Even if there is a long cease-fire, believe me, they will never forget what happened there and there and there. They will be scared and they will remember this war,\" she adds.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Saturday, there was a brief respite from the surrounding chaos. \u003cbr/\u003eVolunteers showed up in the school courtyard with crayons, paper and balloons for an afternoon of fun and games. \u003cbr/\u003eThey were hoping to relieve the children's stress, at least temporarily.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The people who live here are in need of our work with the children with toys and activities. We try to let them release their stress and to express their feelings with movements, songs and toys,\" says Ramadan Al Helo, coordinator of the Centre for Mind-Body Medicine in the Gaza Strip.\u003cbr/\u003eThe organisation helps people using meditation, guided imagery and support groups in which participants express their feelings in words, drawings and dance.\u003cbr/\u003eAs a result of the month-long war, nearly 1,900 Palestinians have been killed, among them at least 400 children, according to Gaza health officials and the UN children's agency, UNICEF.\u003cbr/\u003eAP Television\u003cbr/\u003eJebaliya, Northern Gaza Strip - 9 August 2014\u003cbr/\u003e1.
