I can't confirm at this point what has happened to Charles Taylor, whether or not he has escaped, but obviously it would be a matter of the utmost seriousness if that did indeed take place. The Nigerians did indeed take Charles Taylor at the behest of the international community but I think there was an understanding that he would be monitored and that he would be at some point - President Obasanjo (Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo) said when there was a Liberian government - turned over for prosecution by the court. And we were on course for that. If we are no longer on course for that then we will have to examine why this happened and have consequences accordingly.\"\u003cbr/\u003e3. President Charles Taylor's escape were true.\u003cbr/\u003eRice, testifying before a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing in Washington DC, said she couldn't confirm what had happened to Taylor.\u003cbr/\u003eTaylor has been indicted by a UN tribunal on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity while in office.\u003cbr/\u003eHe has been living in Nigeria under an agreement that helped end Liberia's civil war in 2003. \u003cbr/\u003eLast week, Nigeria's government agreed reluctantly to surrender him to stand before a UN tribunal, but Nigerian officials said Tuesday that
