Music Clip:  \"Valerie\"\u003cbr/\u003eAfter four years of trying, The Zutons' eccentric brand of pop and rock has finally been accepted by the British mainstream. \u003cbr/\u003eThe band now have two top ten singles under their belt ('Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?' and 'Valerie') to add to their 2003 Mercury Music Prize nomination for debut album, 'Who Killed The Zutons?'\u003cbr/\u003eFormed in Liverpool in 2002 by singer/guitarist Dave McCabe, drummer Sean Payne, bassist Russell Pritchard and guitarist Boyan Chowdhury, the band added saxophonist Abi Harding a few months later after her occasional live appearances were met with crowd approval.\u003cbr/\u003eTwo limited edition singles followed before the band retired to a recording studio with producer Ian Broudie (ex of The Lightening Seeds) to record their debut album. \u003cbr/\u003e'Who Killed The Zutons?' was met by critical plaudits and received a nomination for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize, but sales failed to reflect the generally positive reviews. Influences included Talking Heads, Devo, Madness and Sly and the Family Stone, but the general public struggled to differentiate between The Zutons and The Coral - another Liverpudlian band signed to the same label, also produced by Broudie.\u003cbr/\u003eNow England have taken the band to it's heart, 'The Zutons' have their sights set firmly on the US.\u003cbr/\u003eBut they say they are realistic about the dedication it takes to break the states, and aware that many top European acts often fail to woo the American audience.\u003cbr/\u003eThe band's second album 'Tired Of Hanging Around' was recorded in late 2005 with veteran producer Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur, Kaiser Chiefs), who 'beefed up' The Zutons sound in the studio.\u003cbr/\u003eWritten over the space of a year, the 11 songs that make up the latest album were shaped by the never-ending world tour that accompanied the release of 'Who Killed The Zutons?' Single 'Valerie' was written about a woman that lead singer McCabe met while the band was touring America with The Killers.\u003cbr/\u003eFirst single 'Why Won't You Give Me Your Love?' hit number nine in the UK charts with its skewed tale of stalking, set to a glam rock beat, accompanied by a video in which the band ape the Jets vs. Sharks battle from 'West Side Story.'\u003cbr/\u003eThe band
