Wide shot exterior Palace of Justice\u003cbr/\u003eTwo Belgian nationals who were released from the United States' detention centre, Guantanamo Bay, were taken to the Palace of Justice in Brussels on Tuesday where their status will be considered.\u003cbr/\u003eThe men were driven to a side entrance of the building in two unmarked cars and escorted by several private security guards wearing black balaclavas.\u003cbr/\u003eA statement by the Belgian authorities on Monday broke the media blackout on the issue, stating that said that the two detainees had been handed over by the United States.\u003cbr/\u003e\"After intensive contacts between the United States and Belgium, an agreement was reached concerning the extradition to our country of two Belgians detained at Guantanamo,\" the statement from the prime minister's office said.\u003cbr/\u003eIt gave no further details and it was not clear whether the two would be set free in their home country.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the local news agency Belga, one of the men, Mesut Sen, was of Turkish origin and was captured by the US military in Pakistan in December 2001 during Washington's war in Afghanistan. \u003cbr/\u003eThe other man, Moussa Zemmouri, was said to be of Moroccan origin and was captured in the Kandahar region in southern Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eBoth were flown on a military aircraft to Belgium on Monday, the agency said. They were the only two Belgian nationals held at the US Naval base at Guantanamo.\u003cbr/\u003eUS officials have already released or handed over more than 200 Guantanamo detainees to authorities in
