Firstly the engine is a small turbo charged 1.4 litre, powered by bio-ethanol, it's a very efficient fuel which means we get a lots of power out for very low carbon footprint, it's 0-60 in 7.9 seconds and yet only 105 grammes per kilometre of CO2, very very competitive. It's a light-hybrid with lithium iron batteries which are very light in weight, and it's got active aerodynamics which means it's got spoilers that move at high speed that lower the drag coefficient.\"\u003cbr/\u003e15. Various Motor Show interior\u003cbr/\u003eThe British International Motor Show opens in London's Docklands this week and like an increasing number of industries, car manufacturers are focusing on the environment in a bid to boost sales.\u003cbr/\u003eFord have unveiled a new eco-friendly car at the British International Motor Show today - the Fiesta ECOnetic. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Fiesta features an aerodynamic body design, lowered suspension and low friction oil which when combined help reduce CO2 emissions.\u003cbr/\u003eRoelant de Waard is the Chairman and Managing of Ford of Britain. He describes what makes the Fiesta ECOnetic  stand out.\u003cbr/\u003eDe Waard acknowledges that there is a trend towards eco-friendly cars and says that his company have a corporate responsibility to listen to their customers.\u003cbr/\u003eThese are just some of the eco friendly cars that manufacturers think we will be driving in the future. \u003cbr/\u003eGrowing awareness of environmental issues has forced companies to develop fuel cells, electric vehicles and hybrids in an attempt to corner the emerging market.\u003cbr/\u003eWhatCar? magazine are launching the Green Awards for the most environmentally friendly car on the market. \u003cbr/\u003eSteve Fowler, Group Editor of WhatCar? magazine, details some of the cars in the running.\u003cbr/\u003eFowler says that WhatCar? magazine has launched the awards for the first time this year because consumers have a growing interest in eco-friendly cars. \u003cbr/\u003eHe goes on to say that this year in particular the issue has been brought into sharp focus.\u003cbr/\u003eFor Scandinavian manufacturer's Saab, the ecological messages informs every aspect of their product.\u003cbr/\u003eIf Saab's- ecological ambitions are realised, this could be the state of things to come in a few years.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Hybrid Concept has environmental considerations built into everything from the engine to the body work.\u003cbr/\u003eDavid Pugh is the General Manager of Saab UK. He explains what makes the Hybrid Concept car so special.\u003cbr/\u003eThis car won't be seen on the road for some time however. Often proto types or 'concept cars' like this are never manufactured in their entirety but certain aspects of it will be seen in real life before too long.\u003cbr/\u003eDavid Pugh says he is confident that this car will be seen in the future.\u003cbr/\u003eThe WhatCar?
