Wide-shot of \"Woman in Tub\" by Jeff Koons\u003cbr/\u003eA controversial sculpture depicting the Pope struck down by a meteorite is leading Christie's spring sale of contemporary art in New York. \u003cbr/\u003eThe work depicts a life-like wax effigy of Pope John Paul II felled by a meteorite that has crashed through the ceiling. \u003cbr/\u003eThe sculpture by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan is entitled \"La Nona Ora\", and was extensively headlined as one of the centerpieces of the \"Apocalypse\" exhibition at London's Royal Academy in 2000. \u003cbr/\u003eCreated in 1999, the sculpture was also displayed in Poland, where two members of Parliament removed the meteor and tried to stand the Pope upright. \u003cbr/\u003eChristie's estimate that Cattelan's work will fetch between U-S 400 and 600-thousand dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eOther controversial works of contemporary art include Andres Serrano's \"Piss Christ,\" which depicts a crucified Jesus covered with human urine. It is estimated to fetch between U-S 70 and 90-thousand dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eIn addition to \"La Nona Ora,\" other works by Cattelan include \"Super Noi (Torino)\" from 1996, a compilation of fifty police sketches of the artist based on descriptions provided by friends and relatives. \u003cbr/\u003eThe goal of the work, according to the artist, is to \"capture the schizophrenia of our existence.\" It is estimated to fetch up to 120-thousand dollars.\u003cbr/\u003eAnother work by Cattelan, \"Untitled\" from 1997, consists of a taxidermied dog and combines romantic memories and
