visitors from across the world to this remote region. \u003cbr/\u003eIts selling point...the rooms are caves carved by hand out of the mountainside. \u003cbr/\u003eIn a remote region of Iran, there is a hotel with a difference. \u003cbr/\u003eLocated 62 kilometres (38 miles) from Tabriz city in northwestern Iran, the Kandovan Laleh Rocky Hotel, like the nearby village houses, is built into the pyramid shaped rocks, created with the region's past volcanic activity. \u003cbr/\u003eThe distinctive cone shaped homes, were first carved by fast flowing waters out of volcanic rock, then by hand. \u003cbr/\u003eThe forty room hotel, was inspired by the unique architecture and traditional building methods of Kandovan village. \u003cbr/\u003eConstruction workers carefully chip away the stone with chip axes to hollow out the rooms. \u003cbr/\u003eIt takes ten months for four people to dig a room out in the rocks. \u003cbr/\u003eThis job is delicate, the stone is unforgiving and the masons have to work carefully in order to make well-shaped rooms.\u003cbr/\u003eEsmaeel Jame'ee Osku'ee, manager of the Laleh rocky Hotel says the business is entirely owned, designed and built by Iranians. \u003cbr/\u003eThe mountainous and mild climate of the area and the beauty of the unique buildings attracts many tourists to the region from other parts of Iran and abroad. \u003cbr/\u003eMasoud Bayani, an Iranian tourist says the hotel was recommended to him be friends. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says he is amazed to see the rooms carved from rocks. \u003cbr/\u003eBut cave living is by no means uncomfortable. \u003cbr/\u003eEach room is well furnished and several suites boast jacuzzis. \u003cbr/\u003eThe central heating system is embedded beneath the floors of rooms to keep guests warm during the cold winter months. \u003cbr/\u003eIn summer, the cool air in the caves means there is no need of air conditioning. \u003cbr/\u003eThe subterranean restaurant can seat up to 120 guests, and is decorated with traditional Iranian furniture.\u003cbr/\u003eGuests from as far afield as China and Switzerland say they are impressed with the uniqueness of the hotel. \u003cbr/\u003eOsku'ee says
