the meeting.\u003cbr/\u003eThe demonstrators are strongly opposed to the WTO's goal of free trade, they believe it would only benefit the rich countries like the US and European Union (EU), while hurting poor nationals.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Friday, more than a hundred women staged an all-women protest against poverty, condemning the WTO.  \u003cbr/\u003ePutting a different touch to their gathering, the women staged a mock trial and accused WTO of driving women into worse conditions of poverty which bred further further discrimination and violence against women.\u003cbr/\u003eThe environmental group \"Friends of the Earth\", gathered at Hong Kong's Victoria Park and presented a spoof of the popular board game Monopoly, calling it the \"WTO-Poly.\"\u003cbr/\u003eTheir version, spokesperson Ronnie Hall said, exposed and discredited the undemocratic trade regime of the WTO, which benefits a few big players at the expense of the majority of the population and the environment.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, elsewhere in the city, Korean farmers gathered for another protest.\u003cbr/\u003eBut while many are in the streets were calling for an end to the WTO talks, representatives from the US agriculture group supported plans for trade liberalisation - a move they say will destroy the livelihood of farmers and other industries. \u003cbr/\u003eConnie Tipton, of the International Dairy Food Association of the US said that market-driven competition would be good for her industry, both in the US and global market.\u003cbr/\u003eRepresentatives of 148 World Trade Organisation member countries are attending the summit, which aims to lay  the groundwork for a treaty liberalising global trade. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Hong Kong meeting was meant to produce an outline for final agreement on cutting trade barriers in agriculture, manufacturing and services, but the stalemate over farm trade has made that highly
