Because of that, we've got about a hundred, well, over a hundred people on staff, keeping them busy 24 hours a day, six days a week just to meet demand," says Millar.
Industry experts say vinyl sales have been growing for seven straight years. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry annual report for 2012 finds vinyl sales hit their highest level last year since 1997 - reaching 171 million dollars, up more than 50% since 2011.
Nielsen Soundscan reports double digit growth year after year for the medium. In 2011, about 3.9 million albums sold on vinyl.
Record sales peaked in the early 1980s, before being pushed to the side by cassettes, then CD's and finally digital formats.
But fans of vinyl say the sound is warmer and beats digital hands down.
A growing number of listeners seem to be turning back to tangible recordings over the CDs and MP3s that dominate the market.
United's presses produce everything from decades old albums by Elton John to brand new music.
"We do have very tiny bands that you've never heard of, you know, all the way up to Lady GaGa, Justin Timberlake, Adele, things of that nature. Sleepy Kitty is a St. Louis-based indie rock band.
Many bands have built fan bases just focusing on digital files of their music.
But these musicians feel there is no substitute for vinyl - even though singer-guitarist Paige Brubeck grew up in the CD-era.
Drummer Evan Sult is happy to see the records of his youth returning. He says releasing a record is special, while MP3s just can't compete.
"It just feels lesser to me than going through the whole process. The third Saturday of April each year rivals the all-important Christmas shopping season and Black Friday.
Shops like Euclid Records never gave up on vinyl, but owner Joe Schwab describes the 1990s into the early part of this century as a kind of doldrums.
Now, new listeners are joining audiophiles who have always loved vinyl's warm analogue sound.
"You always have what I call an 'addicted personality.' After all, they were born as CDs were already starting to lose out to file sharing.
But, 16-year-old Claire says putting an album on the turntable gives a totally different experience than listening to an iPod.
"I don't know.
