It was a very accusatory documentary, in which the producer of it, the reporter Martin Bashir, is heard saying throughout that he had concerns about Michael Jackson''s behaviour, that he had concerns about the boy that was staying at his house. It was all from that standpoint. So, the cross-examination, was seen by Mesereau as being very important. The problem is that Martin Bashir is a journalist.  And he is covered by the reporters shield law, he''s covered by First Amendment rights, and he does not have to testify. with his accuser and talk about hosting sleep-overs with children at his Neverland Ranch.\u003cbr/\u003eThe documentary \"Living With Michael Jackson\" was shown after defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. finished an opening statement in which he suggested the entertainer may testify and said authorities found no DNA evidence in the entertainer''s bedroom to support the charges. \u003cbr/\u003eMr Jackson denies molesting a boy in 2003, giving him alcohol and conspiring to kidnap him and his family. \u003cbr/\u003eJackson is not on the defence witness list.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors say Jackson plied his accuser, then a 13 year-old cancer survivor, with alcohol and showed him sexually explicit images before molesting him at Neverland.\u003cbr/\u003eJurors watched the documentary after prosecutors called its maker, British journalist Martin Bashir, to the stand.\u003cbr/\u003eThe documentary, taped in 2002 and aired in 2003, led to the investigation that ultimately resulted in the charges against Jackson.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring the viewing, Jackson dabbed his eyes with a tissue during a segment in which he says children are his reason for living.\u003cbr/\u003eAfter the viewing, Mesereau sought to have Bashir''s testimony and the documentary stricken when Bashir refused to say how many hours of videotape were recorded during the making of the programme.\u003cbr/\u003eAs Bashir was being peppered with questions by Mesereau, the witness''s attorney repeatedly invoked California''s shield law for reporters and the First Amendment, saying that as a journalist Bashir did
