I hope that the National Assembly will see it and they will legalise our marriage, like many other heterosexual couples.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn August, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung addressed the issue of same-sex marriage and requested it be discussed in the upcoming meeting of the National Assembly, Vietnam's legislative body. \u003cbr/\u003eOther high ranking officials including Minister of Justice Ha Hung Cuong and Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien openly backed the proposal to legalise marriage of same sex couples. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The government recognises the existence of the LGBT community and the fact that same sex couples live together.
