His Sunday ready-to-wear show for winter had plenty of  the color.\u003cbr/\u003eBut the overall effect often lacked dashing chic, and even fun.\u003cbr/\u003eThere were pencil pants for the slim, a good black-lapelled pink trouser suit with a  dickey up front, touches of acid green and fluorescent pink and stiletto-heeled shoes.\u003cbr/\u003eAs the models minced down the runway wearing some breathtakingly revealing  asymmetrical skirts and dangerously high-heeled shoes, many of them nearly tumbled.\u003cbr/\u003eLacroix is part of the LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton group, and Chairman Bernard  Arnault loves the unwearable spectaculars laid on by John Galliano at Dior.\u003cbr/\u003eThe trouble is that Lacroix's show did not quite make the fashion Oscar list.\u003cbr/\u003eThe minis with multicolored rabbit-foot fringes and the nail-headed leather mini-dress  might recall a Pocahontas or Western look, but neither were very inspired.\u003cbr/\u003eThe powder-puff head coifs looked more like waitress uniforms than high fashion.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Lacroix also showed some appealing numbers. The overall sequined outfits were  well-produced for a showy effect. And conservative Lacroix fans could jump at a  luscious Chinese-style coral and almond-green iridescent trouser suit with a boxy  jacket and cigarette trousers.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Kenzo show by Gilles Rosier featured embroidery, patchwork prints and ethnic  touches reminiscent of Kenzo himself. The Parisian Japanese designer is now happily  retired and working on other projects.\u003cbr/\u003eCurrent Kenzo styles included gray intarsia knit sweaters and coats with ethnic-graphic  looks. A blue and brown diagonal plaid wool coat, cinched at the waist, was also  outstanding.\u003cbr/\u003eLeather was used in all sorts of ways in the tapered silhouettes - from shoulders down  to lean pants or skirts. A flame-red battle jacket with a pleated jersey skirt to the knee  or other jackets with \"mod\" biker or flower motifs were quite fun.\u003cbr/\u003eKENZO SHOW ( (at Le Carrousel Du Louvre)\u003cbr/\u003e1.
