It is certainly the biggest piece of ice on the planet right now that is floating around and it's about 80 miles long (128.7 kilometres) and it is about 20 miles wide (32.2 kilometres). It is just massive. It is hard to really take that in, certainly not when you are there on the iceberg you can't see the edges of it. We can understand that the iceberg has grounded and that is what has stopped the iceberg, but it ... We have seen this iceberg smash against other fixed pieces of ice and it essentially dents its bumper. But in this case the ice tongue is well extended into the ocean and there is a possibility that this iceberg, when it hits the ice tongue, will just snap the ice tongue off.\"\u003cbr/\u003e8. Bindshadler at computer showing images of iceberg\u003cbr/\u003eNASA scientists are hoping to observe for the first time ever a \"clash of the titans\", as two giant slabs of ice are on an imminent collision course in Antarctica.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe scale of the event is so large that the best place to view it will be from outer space.\u003cbr/\u003eA 160 kilometre-long (100 mile) iceberg, known as B-15A, is heading towards a huge glacier, known as the Drygalski Ice Tongue, half the size of the iceberg, in the sea near the US McMurdo Research Station in Antarctica, scientists have said.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile initial predictions showed the collision could occur as early as this weekend, a temporary grounding of B-15A on an underwater mountain has injected an amount of uncertainty into that projection.\u003cbr/\u003eDepending on cloud cover, every twelve hours a NASA satellite is in a position to photograph the iceberg's location.\u003cbr/\u003eGlaciologist Dr Robert Bindshadler, from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre, said that even a 'tap' from a giant iceberg could be powerful. \u003cbr/\u003eBut scientists are not sure what would happen to the ice tongue after the collision.\u003cbr/\u003eOne prediction includes the edges crumpling or drifting into the Ross Sea. \u003cbr/\u003eBut if the B-15A iceberg picks up enough speed before the two collide, the results could be more spectacular with the Drygalski Ice Tongue breaking off.\u003cbr/\u003eDr Bindshadler believes that if the collision occurs as predicted, it could be an event that is witnessed
