One of the risk factors is age, so people that are over 60 get them a little more frequently. If you've been travelling recently, that's a key risk factor, especially on long airline flights. You're in a pressurised cabin, you're often sitting with your legs a little bit compressed and not moving, sort of stuck in a sitting position for quite a period of time. anti-coagulant heparin. \u003cbr/\u003ePatients are then routinely given the blood-thinning drug warfarin, sometimes for months.\u003cbr/\u003eDeep vein thrombosis strikes an estimated 2 (m) million
