agents.\u003cbr/\u003eReno assured the Senate Judiciary Committee it was not a tactic to delay Starr's investigation, but was due to concerns over the protective responsibility agents have.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Attorney General wants further court review of whether agents should be forced to divulge information they heard or saw while guarding the president.\u003cbr/\u003eKenneth Starr and the Clinton administration are embroiled in a high-stakes court battle to determine whether Secret Service employees can be compelled to divulge what they observe while on duty.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Justice Department said it would fight prosecutor Starr's pursuit of President Clinton's Secret Service detail to testify in the Monica Lewinsky investigation.\u003cbr/\u003eStarr has subpoenaed six uniformed officers and demanded that the agency turn over documents detailing the president's nighttime whereabouts from 1995 through to 1997.\u003cbr/\u003eThese were the years Lewinsky was in Washington as a White House intern and a Pentagon staffer.\u003cbr/\u003eAppearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Reno said forcing the president's bodyguards to testify could have serious implications for his safety in the future.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English) \u003cbr/\u003e\"We believe that the decision by the court of appeals is wrong and the importance of this issue which you have recognised Mr Chairman which involves the safety of the president of the United States, this and future presidents, warrants further review\" heard while protecting the president.\u003cbr/\u003eAt a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, chairman Orrin Hatch said there were two sides to the issue.\u003cbr/\u003eHatch says the president
