controversial jobs law, with a warning from the interior minister that violence would be severely punished.\u003cbr/\u003eThursday's protest will be the fifth in just over a week in Paris, where some demonstrations degenerated into violence, apparently caused by radical elements. \u003cbr/\u003eIn each case, police used tear gas and intermittent charges to disperse unruly crowds.\u003cbr/\u003eStudents planned to demonstrate in cities around France, but Paris was the focal point, with students being bussed into the capital from Nantes and other cities, France-Info radio reported. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Paris march is to start in southern Paris and head toward the National Assembly, the lower chamber of parliament, on the banks of the Seine or to the prime Villepin risked leaving a negative legacy by pushing forward the law without consulting \"trade unions, associations, employers\" and is now \"trying to back pedal to soften the law.\"
