of a young woman on a bus last month in a case that triggered global outrage.\u003cbr/\u003ePolice were on alert outside the sprawling court complex in the south of the capital as the suspects arrived, and were quickly escorted into the courtroom by armed officers.\u003cbr/\u003eA group of campaigners arrived at the court after travelling by bus from the same stop where the woman was picked up on December 16 and then gang raped and attacked with a metal bar.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the campaigners was dressed up as the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to draw attention to a global campaign movement which claims to have 11 hundred thousand supporters.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We are raising awareness because eleven lakh people from around the world are calling on the government to commit Singapore hospital.\u003cbr/\u003eA sixth suspect is said to be a juvenile and is expected to be tried in a juvenile court.\u003cbr/\u003eThe trial began a day after a government panel recommended India strictly enforce sexual assault laws, commit to holding speedy rape trials and change the antiquated penal code in order to protect women.\u003cbr/\u003eThe panel appointed to recommend suggestions to overhaul the criminal justice system's handling of violence against women received 80,000 suggestions from women's and rights groups and thousands of ordinary
