Melville had issued an arrest warrant when Jackson failed to arrive on time, but told defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. he would hold it for one hour.\u003cbr/\u003eThe judge had also threatened to revoke his three (m) million US dollar (euro2.2 million) bail.   \u003cbr/\u003eMesereau, who told the judge Jackson had suffered a severe back problem and was being treated at a hospital, paced outside court and talked on his cell phone until the singer arrived, a few minutes past the deadline.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson walked in gingerly, dressed in a jacket over pyjamas and looked distressed. \u003cbr/\u003eAttorneys met the judge in chambers before court resumed and Melville addressed the jury.\u003cbr/\u003eJudge Melville said he didn''t want jurors to draw any negative inferences from the fact that Jackson did not appear or that the judge had to ordered him to appear.\u003cbr/\u003eThe jurors had not been in the courtroom when Jackson failed to arrive at the 8:30 a.m. (1630 GMT)
