but by law - he is unable to impose the death sentence.\u003cbr/\u003eJurors in the federal trial, against Terry Nichols, were dismissed from the Denver courthouse on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003eThey announced they were deadlocked over whether he should be executed for his part in the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 42-year-old was convicted of conspiracy after being acquitted last month of first-degree murder.\u003cbr/\u003eUntil today he faced the death penalty for conspiracy and eight counts of involuntary manslaughter for the April 19 bombing.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 12-member jury had three options: issue a death sentence, send Nichols to prison for life without parole, or send the case back to\u003cbr/\u003ethe judge.\u003cbr/\u003eBut after two days of deliberations, they told federal judge, Richard Matsch, that they were unable to reach a unanimous decision on Nichol's fate.\u003cbr/\u003eUnlike earlier in the week, when some jurors shed tears inside the federal Denver courthouse, no emotion was betrayed on Wednesday.\u003cbr/\u003eIt will now be left to Matsch to decide Nichol's punishment, but he is unable to rule in favour of a death sentence. \u003cbr/\u003eOutside the courthouse, families of victims of the bombing were furious with the jury's indecision, some sobbing as they left the courthouse.\u003cbr/\u003eUPSOUND: (English)\u003cbr/\u003eQ \"Has justice been served today Jeannie?\"\u003cbr/\u003eA \"No it hasn't\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Jeannie Coverdale, family of bombing victims\u003cbr/\u003eFrederick Allan Anderson, who lost his wife in the bombing, was also distressed the jury didn't rule in favour of the death penalty.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm not surprised with this at all because I expected this since I gotten up here, it's been my opinion that this jury didn't have the balls to do what was right in this case and so I figured it would be this way so I'm not surprised at all.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Frederick Allan Anderson, lost his wife in the bombing\u003cbr/\u003eJames Nichols was restrained -
