That's why I say it here. I am hopeful that the things being done will work, at least some of them.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe singer, who is renowned throughout Latin America for the revolutionary fervor of many of his songs, also said he was hopeful that the \"conquests\" of the Cuban Revolution, such as education and health care, will remain unchanged. \u003cbr/\u003eThe press conference took place on the first anniversary of the death of Hugo Chavez, who Rodriguez said he had \"the honor\" to meet when the president jumped onto the stage where he was playing during a concert in Caracas.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I have the best opinion you can ever have of a human being of Chavez. I think he is a man of a greatness compared to that of the greatest (leaders) of Latin America. And there he is, forever,\" the singer said.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also referred to the recent passing of Spanish singer Paco de Lucia, who died last month in the Mexican Caribbean of a heart attack at the age of 66.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Flamenco music was always discriminated in Spain. It was a minor music, what gypsies played, and the low people,\" he said. \"But Paco de Lucia with his talent, he and some others, knew how to print a stamp of authenticity to this music, a level of complexity and perfection, that made this music stop being discriminated.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe singer will perform two concerts in Mexico City's National Auditorium on March 8 and 9.
