sweeping change of a jury verdict is a worrying sign that America's legal system is changing for the worse. \u003cbr/\u003eIn a statement released through her attorneys on Tuesday, Louise Woodward spoke of her relief at Judge Zobel's decision and her continuing fight to clear her name.\u003cbr/\u003eShe also stressed that contrary to press speculation she had accepted no offer to release her story to any media organisation.\u003cbr/\u003eNewspapers stacked outside the shops of Cambridge Massachusetts told the story. \u003cbr/\u003eTabloids and major city papers across the nation splashed the headline that 19-year old Louise Woodward was free, after a dramatic reversal of fortune, thanks to Superior Court Judge Hiller Zobel.\u003cbr/\u003eWith the ruling of time served on a reduced sentence of manslaughter, Louise Woodward faces an entirely different future from the life sentence she faced after a jury trial.\u003cbr/\u003eNational polls were showing a public divided over the judge's move to cut the sentence, and the punishment.\u003cbr/\u003eSome sided with the wisdom of Judge Zobel.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"Well I think it was a very difficult
