Pika was the runner-up in the Renewable Energy Category at the Global Forum, as Polito explains. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Pika Energy joined the Cleantech Open basically to accelerate our progress toward commercialisation. Through this program with met with mentors, we met with investors, we basically got a lot of great advice and support in terms of starting our company and growing faster than we would be able to do on our own.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition hall is lined with environmentally friendly contraptions including a different type of wind turbine, a solar pool cleaner, energy-efficient light bulbs and solar panels, all of which could make significant contributions to a cleaner environment.\u003cbr/\u003eSince 2006, the Cleantech Open has been gathering the best in green technology to help develop better products. \u003cbr/\u003eThrough regional activities leading up to the national event, participants receive mentoring, networking and financial support, and selected applicants come to the Cleantech Open Global Forum to show off their creations.\u003cbr/\u003eHEVT, which makes green motors, took home the grand prize. \u003cbr/\u003eCEO Heidi Lubin says the 250-thousand US Dollars cheque will help fulfil early customer orders and move the company toward expansion.\u003cbr/\u003e\"So we make high performance, high efficiency, low cost, reliable electric motors free of rare earth metals.
