ordered a local importer to return or destroy 18 tons of U-S beef after detecting the E-Coli bacteria.\u003cbr/\u003eThe four-member U-S team, led by Kay Wachsmuth, of the Food Safety and Inspection Service of the U-S Agriculture Department, arrived on Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eIt has said it wants to know how officials detected the bacteria on the surface of beef imported from I-B-P, Nebraska's largest meat packer.\u003cbr/\u003eI-B-P has questioned the findings.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Seoul government said it would provide details of the methods it used to detect the contamination but refused to allow testing of the meat samples.\u003cbr/\u003eU-S producers fear South Koreans may use the alleged contamination to turn away from imported goods in favour of local
