Wide shot protestors\u003cbr/\u003eProtestors demonstrated outside the headquarters of the Washington Post on Wednesday, angered by the newspaper's handling of a key story concerning the build-up to the joint US-British invasion of Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003eBritish Prime Minister Tony Blair faced heavy criticism and questions in parliament on Wednesday over what are now being labelled the 'Downing Street memos'.\u003cbr/\u003eThe leaked memos suggest strong concerns in the British government that the Bush administration was determined in 2002 to invade Iraq - months before the United States and Britain unsuccessfully sought U.N. Security Council approval for military action.\u003cbr/\u003eThe memos included minutes of a July 23, 2002, meeting between Blair and top officials at his Downing Street office.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to the minutes of the meeting, Sir Richard Dearlove, then chief of Britain's intelligence service, said the White House viewed military action against Saddam Hussein as inevitable following the Sept. 11 attacks.\u003cbr/\u003eBush \"wanted to remove Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD\" (weapons of mass destruction), read the memo, seen by the AP. \"But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe Washington protestors claimed that the Post has not adequately covered the story, despite having the information to hand.\u003cbr/\u003e\"These memos need to be published in full by the newspapers,\" said Peter Rush, a protest organiser, \"They are not that long.
