Defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. walks towards courthouse\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors in Michael Jackson's child molestation trial were questioning their final witnesses on Wednesday before wrapping up their case against the pop star.\u003cbr/\u003eThey questioned a man who worked with one of Michael Jackson's associates, who testified that a member of the singer's inner circle once referred to \"killers\" pursuing the accuser's family.\u003cbr/\u003eThe witness, Rudy Provencio, was called by the prosecution to support conspiracy allegations against Jackson.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors contend Jackson associates participated in a plan to hold the family captive in 2003 by saying that killers were after them, in order to\u003cbr/\u003eget the family to appear in a video rebutting a damaging documentary about Jackson.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio testified that he heard Jackson associate Marc Schaffel make an offhand reference to \"the killers\" and became concerned. He said he asked\u003cbr/\u003eSchaffel who the killers were. \u003cbr/\u003e\"He said, 'The killers that are after the family,\"' Provencio told the court. \u003cbr/\u003eProvencio said he then contacted Vincent Amen, a Jackson employee, seeking more details.\u003cbr/\u003e\"He goes, 'There are no killers,\"' Provencio said.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio testified that Amen said the only threat was from students at the accuser's school who were calling him by anti-gay epithets because of his\u003cbr/\u003eappearance with Jackson in the documentary.\u003cbr/\u003eAt another point he said Schaffel tried to end a discussion with him by saying, \"I can't talk right now, they just escaped.\"\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio said he again called Amen, who said he also couldn't talk \"because the family just escaped.\"\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors introduced the references to \"killers\" to help bolster the mother's testimony that Jackson's associates told her killers were out to get\u003cbr/\u003eher family. Testimony about the \"escape\" was to shore up the mother's claim that she and her family were held against their will.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson is accused of molesting the then-13-year-old boy in February or March 2003, giving him wine and conspiring to hold the family captive. None\u003cbr/\u003eof the associates were charged.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring cross-examination, defense attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. challenged the authenticity of notes Provencio claimed he made while working with\u003cbr/\u003eSchaffel. An entry dated Feb. 1, 2003, mentioned the accuser's family and asked, \"Who are these killers?\" Another entry on the same date stated, \"Mom's\u003cbr/\u003eflipping out about something.\" And a Feb. 2 entry referred to plans for an interview with Jackson's ex-wife Deborah Rowe that didn't occur until weeks\u003cbr/\u003elater.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio acknowledged he had not met the family as of Feb. 1, 2003, and said his notes were based on things he heard from others.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio also said Schaffel tried to coach Rowe to cry better during taping of a video interview that was to be part of the rebuttal to the\u003cbr/\u003e\"Living With Michael Jackson\" documentary.\u003cbr/\u003eRowe, contradicting the prosecution, testified previously that her answers in the video interview were not scripted.\u003cbr/\u003eWith Provencio on the stand, prosecutors showed jurors a picture of the videotaping session with Rowe on camera and Schaffel in a corner, hunched\u003cbr/\u003eover a piece of paper with a pen in his hand.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio said Schaffel was working on questions and answers for the scene.\u003cbr/\u003eThe only mention of Jackson was in Provencio's account of two phone conversations between Schaffel and Jackson associate Dieter Wiesner, with\u003cbr/\u003eJackson being put on the line briefly. Schaffel and Wiesner are among men prosecutors have named as unindicted co-conspirators in the case.\u003cbr/\u003eProvencio said he was hired in 2001 to work with Schaffel on a charity record called
