Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who accused the company of a culture of cover-up that allowed an engineer at General Motors to lie.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Someone at General Motors had switched out the unsafe ignition switches in several car models and covered it up by using the same part number for the new switch.\u003cbr/\u003eIn 2006, GM replaced the faulty switch in small cars such as the Chevrolet Cobalt and the Saturn Ion but didn't change the part number.
