promote her current world tour. \u003cbr/\u003eCalled, 'Star, Born to Sing', the tour is set to open in Hong Kong next month after having already visited Taipei, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Singapore.\u003cbr/\u003eChang, who has enjoyed a fruitful career spanning over 12 years, sang for fans who had turned up at the hotel to see her. \u003cbr/\u003eThe singer also expressed her thanks and hopes for the continued support of her fans.\u003cbr/\u003eShe's an aboriginal Taiwanese star who has won numerous music awards in Asia.\u003cbr/\u003eMei hit the stardom with debut album 'Sisters' which sold more than a million copies. \u003cbr/\u003eHer hits included 'Nothing You Want After All', 'Bad Boy' and 'Listen to the Sea'.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe singer, who has a huge following in Mainland China, became the subject of political controversy after singing R.O.C national anthem at the presidential inauguration in 2000. \u003cbr/\u003eShe was then banned by the Chinese government from performing in China until 2004.\u003cbr/\u003eThe singer also took the lead in the Japanese version of the musical 'Turandot' which played in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya this year.
