A team from France's air accident...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eFrench air crash experts are giving new hope in the search for the crashed Lao plane, missing since Wednesday. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Lao Airlines ATR 72 came down in a storm and disappeared into the Mekong River. \u003cbr/\u003eA team from France's air accident investigation agency - BEA - was at the crash zone early on Saturday. \u003cbr/\u003eThe agency said they had four investigators on site and they were supported by a team from ATR, the French-Italian manufacturer of the ill-fated plane. \u003cbr/\u003eThey are not authorised to talk to the media. \u003cbr/\u003eThe aircraft struck land first, before its momentum carried it on into the river. \u003cbr/\u003eIt left debris which may give vital clues to the investigators.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile one team scoured the riverbank another team probed the depths of the Mekong with sonar, hoping to find the fuselage or any part of the plane. \u003cbr/\u003eThey were not the only ones with new, specialist equipment. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Thai navy brought in their own sonar and echo sounders. \u003cbr/\u003eFour days on from the tragedy the search is finally gathering real momentum.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd the number of bodies pulled from the water is slowly increasing. \u003cbr/\u003eBy Saturday afternoon, 36 bodies had been found and authorities were still trying to identify several of them, said Yakua Lopangkao, director-general of Laos' Department of Civil Aviation. \u003cbr/\u003eThere were 49 on board: more than 30 have now been found.\u003cbr/\u003eThey were all remembered in a simple Buddhist ceremony beside the wreckage on Saturday. \u003cbr/\u003eUntil Saturday, the search for bodies and the plane's flight data recorder had been stalled by lack of manpower and equipment in the poor southeast Asian country, which lacks capabilities in disaster management.\u003cbr/\u003eExperts say the flight data and voice recorders could help determine if the crash was caused by human error or a technical problem. \u003cbr/\u003e1.
