Bush on Monday announced that he and former President Bill Clinton intended to raise (m) millions of dollars for Hurricane Katrina relief.\u003cbr/\u003eClinton said nothing they would achieve would be an adequate response to the misery the hurricane dealt to southeastern Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.\u003cbr/\u003eThe former presidents announced that private corporations had promised support - including a 23 (m) million-dollar pledge from Wal-Mart Stores. \u003cbr/\u003eThey also said their presidential library funds would donate to the cause - and that other presidential library funds had also promised support.\u003cbr/\u003eFormer first ladies Barbara Bush and Hillary Rodham Clinton attended the news conference in Houston at which their husbands announced the fund-raising
