Here the young  gather to party the night away. But the glitz and glamour belie a seedier side. \u003cbr/\u003e82nd Street is the place to be seen and it's also the place where the drug pushers hang out. Plying their trade to an alienated youth who feel at odds with their parents and have turned to drugs instead.\u003cbr/\u003eViolence is never far away.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Colombian government has recently been waging a successful war against the drug cartels and those who organise them. But some say they underestimate the size of the problem that years of control by drug barons has brought.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: Spanish\u003cbr/\u003eIn Colombia people use a lot of drugs. Statistics say 400-thousand people are addicted to drugs in Colombia. Rehabilitation clinics like this one in Bogota aim to get addicts to kick the habit and then  reintegrate them into society. Whilst under treatment they are taught skills such as stained glass making. \u003cbr/\u003eDisciplines such as this focus the mind as well as providing an opportunity for employment on the outside.\u003cbr/\u003eBut for some life on the outside will forever be perilous. One addict APTV spoke to became a drug addict and then a hitman to support his habit. Fernando Cifuentes says he killed between 50 and 60 people. In the family it's affecting many children. At the moment there's government propaganda saying there's 200 or 300-thousand addicts.
