We want people to feel comfortable in getting HIV/AIDS information so that they can better protect themselves from HIV infection and enable those already infected to easily access anti-retroviral therapy in order to improve their quality of life,\" says Aditya.\u003cbr/\u003eVarious AIDS support groups in the country have begun to benefit from accessing the mobile app, including Intermedika Foundation.\u003cbr/\u003eWith AIDS Digital, they have a new tool in sharing information and encouraging others in the gay communities to get tested or seek treatment.\u003cbr/\u003eGay communities in the capital Jakarta have been identified as a high-risk group.\u003cbr/\u003eMembers of the Intermedika Foundation often visit health clinics to get regular HIV testing and to provide counselling to those affected with the disease.\u003cbr/\u003eIn a visit to this clinic in central Jakarta, members met with 27-year-old Nurdiyanto, a hospital worker who was diagnosed with HIV two years ago.\u003cbr/\u003eThrough a counselling session, Nurdiyanto learnt about the benefits of AIDS Digital.\u003cbr/\u003eNurdiyanto says the mobile app has made it a lot easier to access treatment and is also good for support.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think this AIDS Digital application is quite useful. I can use it to find the latest updated information on treatment services, side effects from various drugs and the presence of support groups,\" says Nurdiyanto.\u003cbr/\u003eAt present, Indonesia is facing an uphill battle to beat AIDS.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Indonesian National Commission on AIDS Prevention, that helps formulate the government's policies on AIDS, reports that new HIV infections in Indonesia are on the rise compared to other Asian countries.\u003cbr/\u003eA recent UNAIDS report says new HIV infections in Indonesia have more than doubled in the last decade.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Indonesian government estimates there are around 150,000 people living with AIDS in the country, but health analysts think that figure may be considerably higher.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Secretary of the Indonesian National Commission on AIDS Prevention, Kemal Siregar, says AIDS Digital is a welcome resource that could help save lives. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The AIDS Digital application is extremely useful for those people already infected with the disease. It can help them in getting access to medication and ensure that they can take their drugs regularly,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile, Aditya Wardhana is pushing hard to raise the awareness for his mobile application.\u003cbr/\u003eHe says affected communities in Indonesia have better access to mobile technology compared to those living in neighbouring countries, due to higher rates of smartphones and social media use.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We urgently need this mobile application in light of the ongoing AIDS epidemic.
