That''s what the PDB request was. And had there been actionable intelligence, we would have moved on it. Bush on Sunday braced the country for the possibility of more American casualties in Iraq while saying the US-led mission is just.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Obviously every day I pray there is less casualty, but I know what we are doing in Iraq is right,\" Bush said after attending an Easter service at a chapel on the US Army base in Fort Hood, Texas. 12,000 troops from that base are now in Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It was a tough week last week and my prayers and thoughts are with those who pay the ultimate price for our security,\" the president said.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Today, on bended knee, I thanked the good Lord for protecting those of our troops overseas,\" he said before heading to a military hospital to meet wounded soldiers who have returned recently from Iraq. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter speaking in front of the Chapel, Bush headed to a hospital to meet with wounded soldiers who recently returned from Iraq. \u003cbr/\u003eBush made no remarks as he left the hospital, where he met 11 soldiers, awarding Purple Heart medals to 10 of them.\u003cbr/\u003eIn fighting across Iraq over the past week, almost 50 American soldiers and more than 550 Iraqis have been killed. At least 649 US soldiers have died in Iraq since the war began in March 2003.\u003cbr/\u003eBush said he had spoken twice in the past few days with General John Abizaid, the overall commander of the Iraq war, and that Abizaid \"knows full well when he speaks to me, if he needs additional manpower, he can ask for it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eDefence Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld has said there are 135,000 American troops in Iraq and he indicated that US commanders want to hold that level \"for some period\" rather than reduce to 115,000 as previously planned.\u003cbr/\u003eAbizaid on Friday suggested that no further reinforcements would be required, saying he had everything he needed inside the region Central Command oversees, which includes Iraq, Afghanistan and the Mideast.\u003cbr/\u003eBush went on to speak about the now declassified presidential daily briefing (PDB) from August 6, 2001, saying that he was satisfied before September 11, 2001, that federal agents were on top of the terrorist threat when he read a briefing memo on Osama bin Laden''s intention to strike inside the United States.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I wanted to know whether there was anything, any actionable intelligence,\" Bush said, adding that when he read the memo of August 6, 2001, he \"was satisfied that some of the matters were being looked
