Close up of feet tapping\u003cbr/\u003eFrom a small house in southern Jakarta, two young Indonesians are launching a music revolution.\u003cbr/\u003eThey've created an online record label for distributing music received through social media including Facebook and Twitter. \u003cbr/\u003e28-year-old Ganesha Mahendra and 30-year-old Ridwan Yuniardika are members of a unique kind of musician in Jakarta,  who call themselves 'bedroom musicians'.\u003cbr/\u003eBy definition, a bedroom musician records his or her songs in an actual bedroom or a room in their house, using simple equipment such as a laptop, an acoustic guitar and keyboard.\u003cbr/\u003eGanesha saw the need to create a medium for bedroom musicians to express themselves freely.\u003cbr/\u003eHe joined forces with Ridwan and founded the 'inmyroom' netlabel in January 2008.\u003cbr/\u003eThe netlabel is completely free, and it distributes all the music that they receive through its various online media including Facebook and Twitter. \u003cbr/\u003eGanesha explains that the only rule is that the music needs to be created in a bedroom.\u003cbr/\u003eThe netlabel has turned down studio-made recordings in the past because they are not in line with the label's principle.\u003cbr/\u003eMataharibisu is one of 35 musicians currently handled by the inmyroom label.\u003cbr/\u003e23-year-old keyboardist Aga Rasyidi first learned about the netlabel when he met Ridwan. At the time the band had only produced 4 songs.\u003cbr/\u003eRidwan encouraged Aga to release his music through the netlabel without fear of being told that their music was not good enough.\u003cbr/\u003eAga says that netlabels are the perfect medium for starting-up indie bands to sample their music to the world and expand their network.\u003cbr/\u003eNetlabels are clearly growing in the world's fourth most-populous nation.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to music observer Denny Sakrie, the Indonesian public got their first introduction to netlabels in 2004.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the following years, netlabels have been established in a number of cities including Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Malang and Jember. \u003cbr/\u003eThese netlabels do not just produce indie bands or bedroom musicians, but some have also taken on more commercial artists.\u003cbr/\u003eThey are unique in that people can download their music for free, including some of the original cover albums.\u003cbr/\u003eDenny argues that what makes netlabels desirable is that they accept music from a variety of genres and allow a lot of freedom for their artists in the way they make music.\u003cbr/\u003eFor Ganesha, the more bedroom musicians that sign up to his netlabel, the better.\u003cbr/\u003eHe does not mind that the netlabel is providing their service without any cost to the musicians, as long as the networking among bedroom musicians becomes stronger and larger.\u003cbr/\u003eGanesha also has plans to stage a live show for the label's artists to get them to connect their music to a larger audience. \u003cbr/\u003eHe hopes to find a sponsorship for the show, and if the show becomes a success, it can be a stepping stone for the netlabel to gain more popularity.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile netlabels are gaining grounds in Indonesia, some major recording labels here may feel threatened. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Denny believes that netlabels can live side-by-side with major labels in that they aim for a very different type of recording artist.\u003cbr/\u003eAs such netlabels are key in ensuring the diversity and creativity of musicians in the
