Close up water patterns being projected on wall\u003cbr/\u003eHolographic light beings, the sounds of the Big Bang and a kissing robot are only some of the attractions greeting visitors at London''s Kinetic Art Fair.\u003cbr/\u003eKinetic means ''motion'' and the art on show is rarely stationary.\u003cbr/\u003eIn a concrete chamber beneath central London, a host of obscure-looking machines are whirring to life.\u003cbr/\u003eElectronic eyes are trembling and winking at passer-bys.\u003cbr/\u003eThe subterranean display is part of the British capital''s Kinetica Art Fair, a show devoted to interactive art.\u003cbr/\u003eNow in its second year, the exhibition introduces visitors to work that bridges the divide between art and computer science.\u003cbr/\u003eThis installation might look like a glowing \"Star Trek\" prop, emitting loud blasts of static as viewers touch it. \u003cbr/\u003eThe sound is an audio manifestation of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), widely believed by astrophysicists to be residual radiation from the Big Bang itself.\u003cbr/\u003eArtist Robin McGinley says it brings visitors back to the creation of the universe.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It''s called the Hydro-Acoustic Big Bang Filter, and effectively it''s a large musical instrument that allows members of the audience to play the sound of the Big Bang.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn another room, visitors are greeted by an ethereal family of holographic light beings, made of edged fibre optic.\u003cbr/\u003eArt director Dianne Harris explains that nowadays kinetic artists are challenging electronic engineering.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It''s actually using technology, industry technology in a creative way. Hologram sculptures\u003cbr/\u003eThe rotating plates are tricking the eye to believe they carry 3D objects, but a closer look reveals they''re only edged on their surface.\u003cbr/\u003eAcross the room, five coloured rings projected on to a wall shudder in time with a heartbeat broadcast over a sound system. \u003cbr/\u003eThe effect, created by projecting a light through glass dishes of water,
