The zoo says it's got the...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eVisitors to the National Zoo in Washington DC will soon be able to enjoy the site of cute and loveable panda bears once again. \u003cbr/\u003eTwo new pandas are expected to arrive from China on December sixth. \u003cbr/\u003eThe zoo says it's got the import permit it needs to bring the giant pandas Mei Xiang (may shahng) and Tian Tian (tee-YEN' tee-YEN' into the country.\u003cbr/\u003eBut they probably won't go on display in the zoo's newly refurbished panda house until January.\u003cbr/\u003eMei Xiang is a two-and-a-half-year-old female, while Tian Tian is a three-and-a-half-year-old male. \u003cbr/\u003eThe pair were hand picked by Zoo officials during a visit to China last summer.\u003cbr/\u003eThe pandas will be in Washington for ten years, under a ten million dollar deal signed with the Chinese government.\u003cbr/\u003eThe zoo's first two pandas, Ling-Ling and Hsing-Hsing, arrived in 1972.
