Neighbors in the sprawling bedroom community say the news sent them reeling. (April 5)\u003cbr/\u003eThis park looks like a shady refuge - the perfect place for neighborhood kids to play. But prosecutors say that just three weeks ago, this was where an 11-year-old girl was gang-raped.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Monday in Riverside County juvenile court, 3 teenage boys denied the charges - that's the equivalent of a not guilty plea. The arraignment for a fourth teenage suspect was postponed. 19-year-old Michael Sykes is also charged as an adult.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're talking rape, sodomy, oral copulation in a violent way with multiple boys.\" :09\u003cbr/\u003eMoreno Valley police say the suspects had previously been identified as gang members. The girl's family had recently moved to the neighborhood and she was befriended by a teenage girl on her way home from school.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Prosecutors say that the older girl told the 11-year-old that they would get their nails done together. She lured her to this park and into this bathroom and then the older boys attacked her.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe planning and brutality of the sexual assault has shocked the community.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Once she got to that bathroom these boys appeared from over fences, maybe texted to be there.\" :09\u003cbr/\u003eRuben Zamora says the alleged crime has changed the way he looks at his neighborhood and the park where he used to hang out in high school.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's sad. I mean, 'cause I have a younger sister. We all have younger siblings. We would hate for something to somebody like that, especially if you're related to them.\"  :14\u003cbr/\u003eDan Rice, the president of the homeowner's association here, says he hopes that the violence was caused by \"pocket gangs,\" not full-fledged gang activity spreading from urban centers to the the west.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Yeah, they are creating some difficulty. They vandalized the school and that sort of thing. According to the gang task force they are not part of the larger gangs, the Bloods and Crips, although we do have some of that in our city.\"\u003cbr/\u003eLoyola says the gang may be small-time but they should be tried as adults because their crime was so violent.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I personally haven't seen anything worse than this in juvenile court in Riverside Co or in other counties.
