I don't think it should be considered a drug.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThe U-S tobacco industry has been on the defensive since it was revealed that their own 20 year old studies indicating that smoking was addictive were concealed from the public.\u003cbr/\u003e The company  denied these claims made by the American Medical Association.\u003cbr/\u003e\"40 (m) million Americans have quit smoking. That fact in and of itself defies the allegation that nicotine is addictive in the sense that that word is used with respect to heroin and cocaine and things that truly are addictive.
