a result of nuclear tests in the South Pacific and the Sahara in 1960-1996. \u003cbr/\u003eFrench Defence Minister Herve Morin told reporters in Paris that the bill would be presented in the coming months to parliament.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile it is likely to be passed, victims groups are pushing to add amendments to broaden the number of people eligible.\u003cbr/\u003eIt is the first time ever that the French government has offered to compensate victims of nuclear tests in Algeria and the South Pacific, bowing to decades of pressure by people sickened by radiation - and seeking to soothe
