But there's a growing market for oversized clothes as the nation gets fatter.\u003cbr/\u003eTwenty year old Wang Yu found the shop last year, after her mother's friend introduced her to it. \u003cbr/\u003eShe was a customer at first, and then applied for a job as a sales and inventory manager. \u003cbr/\u003eThrough the shop, Wang has met many friends who share her weight problem. \u003cbr/\u003eWang thinks she must weight more than 100 kilograms but she isn't sure. She hasn't dared step on the scales recently. \u003cbr/\u003eHer weight problem started three years ago, and she blames part of that on fast foods. \u003cbr/\u003eShe says as an only child her parents also gave her a lot of money and she would spend that in bars and nightclubs, partying late and sleeping in, in the morning. \u003cbr/\u003eShe said as a result her hormones became unbalanced and she started putting on weight quickly, doubling her weight in about a year. \u003cbr/\u003eObesity is a growing problem in China, as people eat more calorie rich foods, and exercise less - swapping jobs labouring in fields and factories for office work.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to a new study in the journal Health Affairs more than 25% of Chinese adults are considered overweight or obese, and unless the problem is addressed that rate could double by 2028. \u003cbr/\u003eThe bigger concern by researchers in China is the growing number of overweight and obese children and teenagers.\u003cbr/\u003eMore and more gyms are opening up as people try to burn off the excess calories. \u003cbr/\u003eIn China, acupuncture is often used as a way to lose weight. \u003cbr/\u003eAcupuncturists say they can help the metabolism regain its balance, and help the obese lose weight.\u003cbr/\u003eIn a bid to lose weight Wang is seeing Dr. Pan Shanying, at Shanghai Traditional \u0026amp; Western Medicine Integrated Hospital. \u003cbr/\u003eWang says she's tried many diets and pills, which have all failed, so she wanted to give acupuncture a try. \u003cbr/\u003eShe will have to come three times a week for three months, plus follow a strict diet.\u003cbr/\u003eDr. Pan has been treating patients with acupuncture for 30 years. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen he first started there were almost no obese patients. Now they flock to him and he turns some away if he doesn't think they can keep a healthy diet. \u003cbr/\u003eHe says acupuncture is a lot of work and can only work if the patient is willing to cooperate.\u003cbr/\u003eDr. Hu Chengdong, also a Chinese medicine doctor, is a specialist in obesity and founder of a nutrition association in Shanghai. \u003cbr/\u003eHe estimates there are more than 40 million patients who are obese in China. While the rate of obesity in China may be lower than that of the U.S. or Europe, the overall number is huge, he says.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd for those who are overweight, socialising can be hard. \u003cbr/\u003eWang has many friends who understand and share her problem. Going out in groups helps ease the pressure when people stare.\u003cbr/\u003eTonight she is roaming the streets of Shanghai with her cousin and a girlfriend who she met through the store. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the U.S. and Europe overweight people are not unusual, whereas in Asia they are - and Wang says this can lead to odd stares.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Wang isn't unhappy, and she isn't going
