jubilant mobs had dragged the burned, mutilated bodies of the American contractors through the streets of Fallujah and strung two of them up from a bridge after rebels ambushed their vehicles.\u003cbr/\u003eFallujah has been a flashpoint for conflict since the start of the occupation.\u003cbr/\u003eLike other cities in the Sunni-dominated area that stretches north and west of the Iraqi capital, many people in Fallujah benefited from Saddam''s 23 years in power.\u003cbr/\u003eMany Sunnis are now fearful of a new government following the transfer of sovereignty on June 30 that is expected to be led by a member of the country''s Shiite majority.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Fallujah on Thursday, residents voiced mixed reactions to the incident. \u003cbr/\u003eOne local resident, Ahmed Ismael, said he thought the attack was retaliation for Iraqi deaths at the hands of the US military.\u003cbr/\u003eBut another resident said only a minority of people supported such an attack - and
