countries are turning to cleaner-burning alternatives for environmental reasons, while India is searching for cheaper options to fuel it''s booming economy.\u003cbr/\u003eBut it is not that simple.\u003cbr/\u003eEnvironmentalists have complained that the push for biofuel could reduce the land available for food crops and lead to the conversion of virgin forests into biofuel-related plantations.\u003cbr/\u003eIndia is currently mixing five percent of ethanol with gasoline in about half the country and wants to increase that to twenty percent in the next decade.\u003cbr/\u003eIt wants to increase its use of renewable energy from five percent to twenty-five percent by 2030 through nuclear power, wind power and converting animal and human waste into electricity.
