The panellists then whittle those lists down to just ten toys expected to top children's christmas wish lists. \u003cbr/\u003eThis year's list consists of: Furby Boom!, Monopoly Empire, Teksta Robotic Puppy, Robo Fishbowl, Doc McStuffins Doctor's Bag Playset, Lego City Coast Guard Patrol, Monster High 13 Wishes Doll, Flying Fairy by Flutterbye, and two learning tablets: the LeapPad Ultra and the InnoTab 3S.\u003cbr/\u003eGood old shoot 'em ups have also made the list. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Nerf N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 comes with a light-weight design and adjustable length that let's every child have some foam blasting fun. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Nerf N-Strike Elite Rapidstrike CS-18 is �39.99 ($64 USD)\u003cbr/\u003eThere's also the Teksta robotic puppy. A dog might not be for Christmas but this clever canine might just be.  \u003cbr/\u003eTeksta is a life-like robotic puppy which responds to the owner's voice, physical gestures, lights and sounds.\u003cbr/\u003eWith new technology, Teksta can express many emotions including barking, crying and using animated eye patterns to share feelings.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Teksta Robotic Puppy is �59.99 ($ 97 USD).\u003cbr/\u003eAndrea Abbis is a buyer for Argos stores who helped put together the 2013 list: \"When we're looking for a top toy there's key things that we're looking for. One of the key things is play value, we want to make sure that the top toys are toys that children will continue to play with, also a combination of the children using their imagination as well because it's great to stimulate a child's imagination, and innovation coming into product as well is really good. So you put the three together and you come up with some really cracking toys and that's what we're looking for.\"\u003cbr/\u003eImagination combined with high tech design are a winning combination in the play stakes.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Furby Boom! sees the furry creature enter the digital age. It comes with a bespoke app that works with tablets like the Apple iPad and allows children to go on virtual adventures with their creatures and even hatch eggs that turn into baby 'Furblings'. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's a definite coming of technological age for the robotic toy, which speaks 'Furbish', and which sold in its millions when it was launched last century.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Furby Boom! costs �59.99 ($97 USD).\u003cbr/\u003eFive-year-old Theresa is a firm fan of the refurbished Furby and would like one herself: \"It speaks and when you tickle its tummy it laughs\" she says.  \u003cbr/\u003eAnother favourite here is the Flying Fairy by Flutterbye. The pink-winged doll launches from a charging base and follows the movements of the user's hand. It's aimed at children five and over. \u003cbr/\u003eTen year old Anna Hooper says: \"I like the looks of it like because of the really pretty hair and the detail on the dress and it just looks really nice and when it's in the air and it looks like it's actually flying.\"\u003cbr/\u003eFlying Fairy by Flutterbye sells for �34.99 ($56 USD).\u003cbr/\u003ePannelist and Dream Toy chairman, Gary Grant, believes this year it's all about tech: \"What we've seen through all those different categories is technology coming into the market and today's children are so tech savvy. I've got an 18 month old grandson, Alfie, and when he picks up my Blackberry he can't understand why when he turns it on its side and flicks my Blackberry, why it doesn't work.\"\u003cbr/\u003eGood old fashioned Lego remains a firm favourite, as does Monopoly, although the 2013 version of the board game is much changed from the traditional property trading Monopoly that can trace its roots back to the early 1900s. \u003cbr/\u003eRather than buying and selling houses, hotels, train stations and utilities, this update allows you to grab a multinational brand such as Coca- Cola.\u003cbr/\u003eGrant says it's bound to be a winner with the younger generation: \"Well we have Monopoly, but we have Monopoly with a difference, this isn't buying up Old Kent Road, today's generation probably don't know where Old Kent Road is they've heard of Mayfair and Chelsea, but this particular Monopoly, Monopoly Empire is building up and buying companies and brands so you can buy Apple, you know you can buy Coca-Cola. You can build an empire and when you've done all that and made that money then you can go and buy your street.\"\u003cbr/\u003eCertainly ten year old Emily Squires and nine year old Milly Walford like this new version - even if they have some reservations: \u003cbr/\u003e\"I really like it it's fun and I think it's better than the other one, but a little bit complicated,\" says Milly Walford.\u003cbr/\u003eMonopoly Empire costs �19.99 ($32 USD).\u003cbr/\u003eAbbis says she is confident the Toy Retailers' Association has got it right in choosing this year's big winners: \"Basically we've got over forty years' worth of experience in toys, so we've got a really good track record of getting it right.
