(March 25)\u003cbr/\u003e [Notes:ANCHOR VOICE]  \u003cbr/\u003eFlorida teens looking to get a tan may have to do it the old fashion way if lawmakers in the Sunshine state have their way.\u003cbr/\u003eThey're considering banning anyone under 16 from using tanning beds and restrict access for those as old as 18, all because of concerns over the growing incidence of skin cancer among young people.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT  Sen. Eleanor Sobel/ D-Hallandale Beach\u003cbr/\u003e\"There is no doubt that ultraviolet radiation causes skin cancer and a recent dermatological study reported that total doses of ultraviolet radiation from a tanning bed may be as much as 100 times more than those from natural sunlight.\"\u003cbr/\u003eKayla Collier is well aware of the risks.\u003cbr/\u003eThe current Miss Florida Teen U-S-A says she developed skin cancer at 15, the same year she started using the beds.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Collier\u003cbr/\u003e\"Now of course, I will never be able to find out if tanning beds were the cause that I had from getting cancer. However, it has been proven that tanning beds do cause cancer.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, not everyone is convinced, including salon owners.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT Jim Carlton/ Florida Indoor Tanning Salon Owners\u003cbr/\u003eIt's part of our job to educate the public to the effects of UV light and to the effects of overexposure to UV light. I mean, what they're trying to do is legislate sunshine in the Sunshine State.\"\u003cbr/\u003eRosie McDavid says she's been using the beds since she was 14 and thinks the limits being proposed are too strict.\u003cbr/\u003eSOT McDavid\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think they should set a limit that if a kid under 16 wanted to tan, then they could tan twice a week or three times a week maximum, but not completely cut them off.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThe bill is still going through committees in Florida and if it passes the full legislature it would be among the strictest such laws in the
