Film trailer - 'The Da Vinci Code'\u003cbr/\u003eIn the Philippines, Asia's leading Catholic nation, the imminent release of 'The Da Vinci Code' is causing much soul-searching.\u003cbr/\u003eBecause of what the church calls its \"blasphemous\" contents, some have called for the banning of the movie in the nation of over 70 million Catholics.\u003cbr/\u003eThe controversial movie starring Tom Hanks is set to open in Philippine cinemas this week, however the film regulatory authority, Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is still to award the film a rating.\u003cbr/\u003eBoard chairperson Marissa Laguardia says there is still time before the scheduled May 18 screening. Aware of all the controversies surrounding the showing of the movie, and criticisms from conservative groups, Laguardia says she is confident that the committee members will make an objective classification. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I leave it to the board members (to rate it)...maybe that part that says 'how it could be blasphemous?'.
